Staying motivated is one of the hardest things for me.
As I’ve already mentioned in my Introduction, as well as in my Biography, I want to excel in the field of 3d modeling and also stay inspired and creative, which means constant practice and new ideas are required.
I’ve decided to write down my ideas of what would be ideal for me to do every week. I’m going to try to do all of these and at the end of each week, I’m going to write about which ones I did, how did they work out and what did I learn from them. The more of them I do (and the more I do in general) the better. These ideas are meant to bring me creativity, skills, as well as push me to live a better life.
Getting good at something like this isn’t easy at all. Right now a very good thing for me would be to try to finish at least one CG related tutorial a week.
Tutorials usually take me a while. It’s hard for me to do something that I haven’t personally come up with, even if I do it step by step. At the same time though, I’m very aware that I’m learning a lot from tutorials and I’m gonna keep on trying to do as much of them as I can.
Also, I always try to do everything a bit different, so that I could feel more connected to my work.
I’m mainly going to be learning stuff from Pluralsight, focusing on ZBrush, 3ds max, Vray and other software that interest me.
I also plan to start doing 3D sculpt sketches. I think this would enable me to really get comfortable with the software.
I’d love to be able to express myself and continue learning and getting better at the same time.
Sketches and Illustrations
First off, id like to say that I do not see myself as an illustrator in the future. I love to draw, I love to try new things surrounding traditional artwork, but only as a hobby and as a way for me to trigger my creativity.
That being said, basically, I’d like to sketch as much as possible. It really keeps my imagination working. The other thing i’d like to do are finished illustrations – they don’t need to be big or complex, but just be a finished idea.
Some time ago I finished a 100-day drawing challenge. I did a finished drawing every single day. I was overflown with different ideas. I really loved doing it.
I’m currently really hooked on drawing with soft pastels, but I also like using ink, pencils, and paint, while sometimes mixing it up with digital artwork.
Living healthy is something I was far from concerned in the last year or two, so now I’m going to try to think more about what I eat or drink. I’m gonna try to sleep more, as well as exercise regularly.
I’ve downloaded some home workout apps and I’m currently waking up with them almost every morning. It feels great.
Study for University
University is something that I easily use track of. I really need something to push me to work hard there, but for the time being, I’m just gonna start with the basics. I’m gonna try to study during the semester and attend as many lectures as I can.
I’m not sure how I’m going to write about my time there at the moment, but maybe acknowledging that I’ve actually spent time studying at the end of each week would be a good way to start.
Here I’m going to have a mini-list of things that I like doing to get inspired. Some of them are pretty obvious, but I still think they’re worth mentioning. I usually do some of them, but I think I should start pushing myself to do more.
Watch a movie
Read a book/Listen to an audiobook
Learn something new – sources could be documentaries, articles, lectures and more.
Discover something – for example a new music band, an artist, maybe a place, I’ve never been to and so on.
Write an article/Share my thoughts
Design Something – a poster, a card, etc.
I could honestly add a lot more to this list, but let’s start from somewhere.
I’m not gonna spend a lot of time on this blog talking about my personal life. I may write about some past experiences and my views on some topics, but that’s mostly it.
I’d like to help people as much as I can. I think all of us need a bit of help sometimes. I usually focus on those who are close to me, but I don’t mind helping others as well. (of course, it’s not going to talk about other peoples lives on here)
I’d like to spend as much time as I can with the people I love, although that could be hard sometimes.
There are a lot of things about my character that I’m constantly working on. I’m trying to be a better human being. Be sure to know I have a big list for that as well but I’m gonna keep it a secret for now.
None of the things I’ve mentioned above is that groundbreaking, I’m very much aware of it. I feel though, that if I do as many of the things I wrote about each week as possible, I’ll be able to really grow and become better. Some weeks it may not work out, but I have to at least try.
I have to be better at everything.
I have to give more than I’m currently giving.
I have to try harder.
I have to always search for anything that is different.
I have to always inspire myself.
